Halloween night
Can someone plaese tell me where October went? WHAT?!? I can't believe how fast my weeks are whizzing by! Our Halloween was awesome as usual :) We went over to our neighbor's house {Monson's...thanks again!} for some trickery and then headed down to our old neighborhood for some treatery. Sydney wanted to be the fairy sitting on a mushroom which I was super excited for. Weeks later, I didn't realize how challenging the idea of the mushroom would be! We figured it out though and despite coming down with a mild case of swine flu {and missing her parade for school}, she was feeling great for Halloween and got great use out of that cute costume!
Kirra is so into the princess ruffley stage right now so she opted for a beautiful Belle. She loved every minute of it and still loves to dress up in it. Finn was a shark and oh how cute he was! We had prepped him {making him wear the costume for small amounts of time prior to Halloween} and he didn't mind the costume at all!
Love the tail!
He loved the lollies....
and is still finding pieces here and there throughout the house. We visited the Fuller's {a must} and enjoyed the comapny of my in-laws for the night. I love Halloween!!!

A Belly Full of Corn
We love our Cornbelly's!!! I took the kidlets on my own this year {on Kirra's birthday} and we had tons of fun! They headed straight for the princess dress ups and we spent a big chunk of our time there. Always love the face painting, cow trains, slides, market pretending, pillow jumping, cotton candy, horse swings, and corn burying :)
Here Syd is trying to Lasso the bull!
Finn loved the cow train!
After the fun we joined up with Tamera's family and my mom and Dad for some eatin' at the Mayan. Kirra's choice as she loves the cliff divers! She asked for a rice Krispy for her cake so I let her choose the colors and we layered the rice krispy cake together. It turned out pretty cute!

this amazing little soul was brought into our lives.
Did you know I picked her birth time? I was in labor and my mom turned to me and pretty much said "pick a time. Pick the time she will be born." So I picked 1:30 pm {about 10-15 minutes away}. And she was born on the dot! She has completely changed our lives in so many ways! So glad we could celebrate such an amazing person! We love our Littles Grace!

Finn's birthday
Finn's birthday came SO fast and I can't believe it has already been almost a month since that special day! We have been super busy with too many things going on so I finally get to write about it tonight! I had decided that since I do love birthdays {as we all know} that I would invite some girls over that had babies around Finn's age...some older, some younger. Amazingly, all these girls are such awesome people and some of my dearest friends! We feasted on lots of different salads {I always make too much!}
and then I had made some Pots De Creme for dessert {still on the lookout for an awesome recipe}.
Lots of chatting, lots of laughing, and plenty of eating makes for a great lunch by the way :)
Later in the day we opened up more gifts. He was VERY blessed with some boy toys that even Adam was grateful for! He even said "ball" today when Adam held up one of his soccer balls. As I went to put him down tonight, he squirmed and shimmied calling out "ball, ball!" Needless to say, he was extremely happy when I gave up cuddling and went to get the balls {he did manage to go down after about 15 more minutes of playing with the balls}.
My mom and dad ended up coming for the cake eating and Finn was able to open up their gift of a train with little people. He loves the music and usually ends up watching the girls drag the train around the room {I think they love his new toys just as much since their toys got packed away...long story!} I knew the day would come, and here it has gone, and I still look at my little dude in disbelief of HOW FAST HIS YEAR went by. Every milestone has been excited and almost heartbreaking as well. I am so glad we have such a healthy, happy, full of character, silly little boy. He brings us so much joy!

Finn's cake smashing!

I couldn't wait to get these photos back from my {awesome} sister Deborah who photographed Finn and his frosting adoration so well. In celebration of turning the big O.N.E I made him a cake and she shot away. We were all laughing, Sydney and Kirra were egging him on, and he was pretty much in frosting heaven for a quick 8 minutes. I couldn't decide which ones were my favs so you get to see A LOT. Thanks Deb! I will treasure these FOREVER!!!

getting ready to semi-hibernate
Salsa is now the number one condiment in America.
You know why? Because people like to say "salsa." "Excuse me, do
you have salsa?" "We need more salsa." "Where is the salsa? No salsa?
You know it must be impossible for a Spanish person to order
seltzer and not get salsa. "I wanted seltzer, not salsa."
Don't you know the difference between seltzer and salsa?? You
have the seltzer after the salsa!
See, this should be a show. This is the show.
You know I had to do it...it goes hand in hand {if your a Seinfeld fan anyway}. you know everytime I eat salsa I have this conversation in my head? Anyhoo....
Although I don't know if I will ever be ready to say goodbye to summer, I truly do adore the fall. I can smell it in the air and I get excited! One thing that comes with the end of the summer is all of the delicious produce that is pouring off the vine {or can I call it EXCESS} which in turn yeilds some yummy salsa! My kitchen was a sweatshop of sorts for a few hours with some beautiful women cooking, dicing, peeling, and laughing away. A few hours later we yielded about 60 pints of salsa. Did I mention we love this stuff? At least I hoped we would after trying 2 new recipes. I think we found 2 winners :)
Since I was in the mood {and still had EXCESS} I canned some quarts of tomatoes, some strawberry syrup, some more jam, and peaches. I feel so proud! I think I like being domestic!
