Another castle?!? Yep, and this one was a beauty! Direlton castle is just down the street from us here so we thought we'd take an easy day with the kids and explore close to home.
A totally blown out pic in part of the gathering hall. It was a quaint room with these little nooks with these really cool stone benches:
I seriously LOVED this place...it had a different feeling to it than some of the other castles. Adam says maybe because so much of it is complete?

It's big and comfortable (and has a HUGE kitchen...my kind of place!) It also is surrounded by gardens so it really is in a beautiful setting. There was a chapel, a priest's room, pit and prison, plenty of latrines, quard's room, and many, many other curious rooms.

Family in part of the vaulted storage rooms: They stored their food, including meat...stinky! I'm just glad it was only storing metal chairs!

so cute! That pic in black and white is amazing, that needs be framed! Too bad the cute mom is always taking the pics and is hardly ever in any! The pic below of Finn is sooo freaking cute too
