Do you remember "Bass Rock"?
Our sweet "us" trip started out with Adam heading over a few days early to get some much needed business complete. He also played in a foursome charity event that David set up (they played very well!), and got in a few more rounds of golf. By the time I had arrived we were both ready to enjoy the week together and spend some time doing what we love...traveling, exploring, and laughing together.
We started in one of our favorite areas of East Lothian, Gullane. We were invited to join the Sanderson family for a beach BBQ that evening, the perfect prescription for jet-lag! This was also a pretty special experience for Adam since the beach just happened to be on the back end property of Muirfield Golf course which is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. Adam is one lucky guy to be able to play there as often as he does. He has honestly met so many wonderful people through golf :) Emma, Molly, and Will just happened to be home from boarding school so we all got to hang out together. They are such a great family!
Emma, Molly, Will, David, Adam. Too bad I didn't get Laura (she's David's wife and is absolutely wonderful!)
We decided to go for a walk along the beach and ran into a few friends of the Sanderson's. They were also having a birthday BBQ on the beach and we ended up staying, meeting new people, and talking for quite some time. They rounded up some of the group for a game of beach hockey! Hilarious!
Adam helped the team to score the winning goal:
At that point it was a bit dark and we were all ready to head home for sleep. Perfect night of fun with some of our favorite Scottish friends. Thanks Sanderson family!
