Edinburgh Tattoo

You say it "tuh-two", otherwise you might get laughed at ;)
One of the reasons we had wanted to go during this time was to be able to go the the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. We have both seen it on t.v and it was kind of a dream to go! We found some tickets on Ebay (yippee! It sells out super fast each year) and even though the rain was consistently pouring down that day, it didn't stop us! It actually never let up the entire day. Oh well, thank you poncho for keeping me dry!

The location is amazing. Just outside of the Edinburgh castle is where the performances take place, also using the castle as a backdrop and entrance. I think it was originally a performance of the Edinburgh Military bands and a gun show. Now it has evolved to incorporate military bands from all over the world! Check out the Dutch bicycle band:

Love the kilts! Not to mention that bagpipes are our fav!

This is the best shot I got of the famous "Lone Piper".

These guys did some wood chopping with their dance & song:

We were lucky enough to be there on a fireworks day. Very cool coming out from the castle!

See the scene displayed on the castle?

Out of hundreds of pics we took the rain had pretty much smeared most of them. We had a great time (I think Adam was a bit surprised by it all...not quite what he had expected) and are really glad we got to do this in our lifetime. Edinburgh Tattoo? Check!
